What is nexard?
Email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses change during your life. Even the ways of contacting people change. Today we give friends or business contacts our phone numbers or email addresses, but maybe in future we exchange IP numbers - who knows what will be.
Imagine you have only ONE address like 'www.nexard.net/yournickname' for your lifetime, which you can give friends or business contacts as your electronic business card. This is not an email address, it is just a little website called 'data sheet' where everyone you authorize to can always find the CURRENT contact information about you, like your address, phone number, email address, etc. Therefore in future you don't have to send emails with address changes to your friends, you will just have to update the data sheet about you at nexard. You will never loose a contact any more.
How does it work?
First you need an account at nexard. This is absolutely free and costs you nothing. In a simple web-based form, you can enter all data about your person. After a check of authenticity, you will be added to nexard. From now on, every person you give your nexard-address and allow her or him to watch your data sheet, will always be able contact you and will always have the actual data about you.
What about spam and privacy?
Protecting you against spam is one of the great advantages of nexard. Only persons which have also an account at nexard and WHICH YOU ALLOW can watch your data sheet. One have to be logged in for watching data sheets of friends or business contacts. So nobody will be able to collect email addresses or other data without the permission of each of this persons.
Also you have the option to allow someone to send you emails only through nexard, so this person or company will never get your email address and will only be able to send you emails through nexard as long as you allow that.
Therefore, you can public your nexard-address to everyone, without ever getting spam-mails! This really prevents you from spam!
How to give someone my contact?
There are two steps:
- You give a new friend or business contact your nexard-address
- If this person wants to watch your data sheet, she or he enters your nexard-address in a normal web browser. If you didn't allow she or him already to watch your data sheet, the person has to send first a request to you through nexard. You will instantly get an email, where you can just click on an URL to allow or reject her or him. After that this person will be able to see your data sheet as long as you will not disallow him to do so.
What are the other functions?
Print: You can print address lists of your friends or business contacts.
Inform-on-changes: You can add yourself to an inform-on-changes-list of one of your contacts, where you get an email, when this person changes something in her or his data sheet.
Authorization Levels: Some friends you like to give the number of your cell phone, but some business contacts you don't want to give that. At nexard you can not just allow or reject a person to see your data sheet, you can also to give them a level of authorization, so that some can see more information about you and others less. But they don't see on witch level they are.
The rules
- You will not be able to see any other information of a person without his/her permission.
- nexard will never resell the information about you. You decide who can see your data sheet.
- You decide about the content of your data sheets. nexard is not responsible for any illegal or wrong content.
- For preventing nexard-users from to many authorization requests we will exclude users who are rejected by more than 100 other users within one day. If needed, nexard will adapt this rule to future circumstances.
- For privacy reasons, when sending emails trough nexard you will not receive any confirmation if the message reached the recipient or not.
- nexard reserves the right to show advertisement on its homepage. Also this advertisements can be adapted to your data. This means NOT that nexard gives information about you to its advertisers. Also you will NEVER get any advertisement emails from nexard itself nor from its advertisers without your permission.
